In 2009, Monroe and Miceli discussed the idea of forming a duo. At the time, they were both eager and reluctant, due to the “limited” range of each instrument, and vast differences in production of sound, and finding a good balance between the two instruments. It took much practice and experimentation to find their ‘sound.’ But find it they did in their up-coming debut CD, Alone Together. Both artists hail from Philadelphia and draw upon their collective experiences growing up in the ‘70’s with popular music, R & B, blues, folk, jazz and classical.
