An Afternoon of Jazz and Wine Tasting is being presented by the award-winning band TJP (formerly known as The Jost Project) with Special Guest Michelle Lordi and certified Wine Sommelier Jimmy Quaile. Planned for Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 3 to 5:30 p.m., it will take place at DRUMMERS, 2152 East Norris Street in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, the exciting new music room owned by Sherrie Maricle.
TJP, named Best Jazz in Philly in the PHL Center Stage competition in 2017, is made up of vibraphonist Tony Miceli, vocalist Paul Jost, bassist Kevin MacConnell with drummer Matt Scarano. All highly respected jazz artists, they interpret the music of the 60’s and 70’s in a jazz format. Their latest album is “Peace and Love” and includes such songs as “Put a Little Love in Your Heart and “Get Together” and their repertoire includes such classics as “Walk This Way”, “In a Gadda DaVida”, “Kashmir” and much more. They perform worldwide on festival stages and throughout the region. Their music has been played on SiriusXM radio and radio stations throughout the country.
Vocalist, songwriter and bandleader Michelle Lordi has received international accolades and heavy rotation on jazz radio stations in the US and abroad. Lordi’s profound love of the music she chooses to sing and the musicians she creates is evident in every note of her vividly expressive and elegantly communicative voice. She has several recordings and is pleased that her original composition “Scare the Ghost” is included in the Philadelphia Real Book Project (2018) . Michelle has performed in venues, Jazz clubs and festivals such as the Mann Music Center (PA) , The Kimmel Center ( PA) , Chris’ Jazz Café ( PA) , South (PA), Birdland (NYC) , Cornelia Street Café ( NYC) Mezzrow (NYC) Minton's (NYC) DazzleJazz (Denver, CO) , BluJazz ( Akron, OH) Bop Stop ( Cleveland, OH) Cliff Bell's (Detroit, MI) , Serendipity ( Topeka, KS) & the Pinelands Jazz Festival ( 2016, 2018)
